If you’re a record-breaking international rugby player, what do you do when you retire from the game that has been your life for over 20 years? You find a new passion. For Wales and British & Irish Lions Rugby legend Shane Williams, that new passion was cycling and triathlon. For a man used to fully throwing himself into any endeavor, Shane wanted to put his own stamp on his newfound love. The result is AGILIS, a new sportswear brand that focuses on road cycling, triathlon and leisure clothing. Being based in Wales ourselves, we’ve teamed up with AGILIS to offer their range online and in store!
We think it looks and performs just as well as you’d expect from a sporting hero that is used to being the best.
Road Cycling & Triathlon
Catering for both men and women, the AGILIS road cycling and triathlon range is stylish, understated and built to perform at the highest level. Shane is a passionate triathlete, cyclist and IRONMAN enthusiast and it’s clear that this new range of kit reflects his high standards.
The core of the range is designed around road cycling clothing and includes long and short sleeve jerseys, bib shorts and gilets. The classy gold, black and/or white aesthetic has a clean look that manages to stand out from the crowd whilst being easy on the eye. The men’s and women’s get differing takes on the colour scheme, but it’s safe to say they look brilliant out on the road!
The range is not just about looking good though, it needs to perform at the level expected of a top athlete. The long and short sleeve jerseys are packed with high quality design features that ensure they do just that. Using a high-wicking and antibacterial fabric, combined with mesh material on both sides for breathability, you’ll be comfortable when racking up the miles or putting the hammer down. The practical features haven’t been missed out either, with quality YKK zippers making life easier whilst the anti-slip silicone hem keeps it in place and secure. For those ride essentials, both long and short sleeve jerseys have three rear pockets, so you’ll have plenty of room for a spare tube, pump, multitool and your phone with room to spare!
As the most important point of contact between you and your bike, keeping your nether regions comfortable should be high on everyone’s priority list! Shane and the team at AGILIS went through countless iterations of the bib shorts to ensure a supreme level of comfort. The final version is multi-density to reduce pressure and is super breathable so you can be confident that you’ll be comfortable no matter whether you’re smashing out a 10-mile TT or the 150-mile cycle leg on an IRONMAN!
It’s not just the warmer months that AGILIS have covered though, with the stylish Gilet offering ultralight protection from the wind. The Gilet uses a thin windproof front panel to take the chill off but can be easily packed and stowed when not in use. A reflective strip has been included on the back to help visibility in low light.
The newest addition to the range is the Trisuit. Triathlon and IRONMAN events are Shane’s passion so it’s no surprise that he applies his experience and enthusiasm to a specific suit for multi-discipline events. Made from a breathable material that dries incredibly quickly, the AGILIS Trisuit has a pad that is placed perfectly for the aggressive position adopted on TT and Tri bikes. Storage is an area that many Trisuits lack and with large back pockets, the AGILIS Trisuit allows you to quickly have a gel to hand rather than digging into a storage bag on the bike. Not only does it perform incredibly well, we think you’ll agree it also looks fantastic to boot!
Leisure and Gym wear
Not content with just offering a cycling range, you can also get super stylish AGILIS Leisure and Gym wear! Currently made up of men’s and women’s T-shirts as well as Hoodies and Sweatshirts, you can have a collar and cuffs AGILIS wardrobe on the bike as well as off it!
The range has an athletic fit and subdued, yet stylish colours with embossed logos, all made from premium materials that feel great against your skin whether you’re hitting the gym or watching Netflix on the sofa.
